The short story is about the important things in life , and it takes place in a class room .the professor put rocks in a jar and asked if it was full .They answered yes. Next he added pebbles and again asked if it was full to which they said yes. Finally, he put sand into the jar and the student again said it was full .He presented this lesson to show what is important in life . The rocks represent family, partner ,and health.  He added pebbles  to show other important things such as jobs , houses , and cars .The sand was the small stuff .Then, he told the students to always put the rocks in first because if you put the sand in first you lose the important things in life.
